The Nobbies to Penguin Visitor Centre

Difficulty

Meeting Place
Penguin Visitor Centre at 8.45am for a 9.00am start. Park as close to the building as possible
Car Shuffle:  Penguin Centre to The Nobbies
Details

Due to The Nobbies building being closed for repairs and toilets not being available, a car shuffle from the Penguin Centre will be necessary to The Nobbies where the walk will start. Although the Penguin Centre does not open until 12.00 midday, outside toilets are available in the morning.

We will start off with a breathtaking boardwalk to the blowhole at The Nobbies and then stroll along the most scenic coastal walk on the island, which will excite even the most difficult to please. This is a must if you have never driven or walked along this road.

As we approach the Penguin Centre from a heady height along the clifftop, you will be able to appreciate the expansive layout of the complex and the new extended boardwalk which we will explore. The last leg of the walk will be on Summerland Beach where hopefully some penguins will join us.

We hope to be back at the carpark at about midday when the centre opens for lunch and refreshments if required.

Lunch / Comments

BYO morning tea, but lunch can be either BYO or purchased at the Penguin Centre which opens at midday together with the café where drinks and food is available.

Please note that the visitor centre is open at midday free of charge to meander through after lunch. Strongly recommended if this is your first visit.
