Grantville: Walk Along beach westerly direction to Queensferry
Jetty Rd with the option to walk road towards highway
(or part of) & return back to beach. ( 6km)
Or return partway along beach then veer off through patch of
bush & walk footpath back to cars. Total 9.5km
We are walking in Grantville on Monday.
This largely urban walk takes in a complete circumnavigation of the suburb of Cape Woolamai. We will walk along quiet roads, bike paths, bush tracks and gravel roads.
Some sections will be muddy and slippery; particularly after rain, so poles would be an advantage if you have them.
The wall takes us past the historic Woolamai House homestead, provides ocean views and an airport crossing to Veterans drive and the museum before returning to the carpark for a bring or buy lunch for those that want to.
BYO Lunch
If you’ve worked up a thirst, the Tavern opens at midday. Alternately, one of the 5 coffee shops in the area could accommodate your caffeine craving.
Walk along beach towards Shelley beach. Depending on the tide we may walk up and down stairs. Cross road to walk along Mandeville Rd to the Boulevard. Head towards Penguin parade for morning tea. Head back to Flynn's beach either via path to old jetty or going along the road
