Bass Coast Strollers would like to acknowledge  Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) for providing us with club uniforms under the 2022-23 Sporting Club Grants Program.

    DESCRIPTION: Walking to the Colonnades beach, then returning along the Esplanade and beach. Approx 8.5km.

    LUNCH: BYO or buy

    TIME: 8.45 ready for a 9am start.

    LEADER: Jane who has kindly invited us all back to her home for morning tea. She would like some

    idea about numbers to help with catering so could you please let me know by Saturday evening if you are joining us.

    Please be aware that the traffic from the Grand Prix may be heavy in the morning – usually heaviest between 9.30 and 12.30.

    FRENCH ISLAND SPECIAL SUNDAY WALK  WITH MORNING TEA. 27TH OCTOBER
    Following consultation with Linda who works at The General store on French Island, an offer has been made to our group for a $25 fee per person to pick us up from the first Sunday ferry, which leaves Cowes at 9.00am, arrives at French Island at 9.30am, and take us to a destination on the island instead of a meal. Ferry is free to seniors over 60 years of age, on weekends and public holidays, otherwise $32.20 per person return..
    They will pick us up from the Tankerton jetty,   then drive us in 2 buses , an 11 seater and 8 seater to the General Store for morning tea /coffee and hot jam donuts( included in price) and toilets.
    From there they will transport us to start of walk, Freemans Point by 10.30. ( 30 min drive ) We can walk to the beach and along the Point, Brets track,  Prison Boundary Track and Gartsides- Rainpoint Rd. About  10 km.
    Return trip, pick up from hiking 1.30-pm then ferry 2.35 from French island , arrive at 3.05 at Cowes Pier.           

    Short walkers can also  walk from General store along Clump Rd to visit some koalas and maybe up to the Pinnacles, depending on energy levels. Meet back at General store at 1.30 for bus trip back to the Jetty , depending on interest and numbers
     Maximum people will be 19 passengers on the bus.Those who book first will take priority.
