Bass Coast Strollers would like to acknowledge  Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) for providing us with club uniforms under the 2022-23 Sporting Club Grants Program.

    We have members who have agreed to be nominated for the following positions;- President, Treasurer, Secretary, Walks Coordinator, Safety Officer.

    DATE & TIME:11th November 8.45am meet for 9am start.

    MEET:  Victorian Desal Plant , 400 Lower Powlett Rd Wonthaggi   at  First carpark with toilets. NOTE- More parking in front of desal plant carpark

    WALK:The Desal Plant since opening in 2014, has become established with native trees and shrubs - a big job to plant.It is exceptionally well planned and maintained.The paths are mostly gravel with gentle undulations,some shaded parts.Its a pleasure to explore the paths and wetlands ,find the birdhides, see the roos and blue tongue lizards and birdlife. Information boards can be seen about the indigenous people and their lives over thousands of years ,and also workings of the plant and its green roof.Circular walk is about 6km inside the desal plant then optional 4km return walk to Williamsons beach or drive to the carpark at Williamsons beach and access the lovely shaded 15 min track to the beach.
